Deep relaxation is a therapeutic technique in order to learn to slow down mental activity and feel a moment of peace within oneself.
Most people live as if there was no way to stop the infernal thinking machine, even during sleep. Thus the rate of insomnia increases every year. Increasingly, young people either do not know how to rest. It's like a car whose engine is running without stopping, so we live on standby.
Relaxation is a moment that you offer yourself to relax and experience a state of well being. The thinking mind is always looking for something without dropping out. This is exactly like you're always doing some shopping in a mall. At one point, you have to go home to rest. During deep relaxation, you drop everything, no single thought in the mind.
Twenty minutes of deep relaxation brings you the equivalent of three hours of sleep. This is an excellent discipline for those who have a heart problem. Because during deep relaxation, in some individuals, the heart beat may drop to 50 or even 40 beats per minute. In other words, the heart is at rest and resource, and deep relaxation promotes health and longevity and may halt the progression of disease or even cure them.

At the age of 20 he went to India to deepen his yoga practice.
He studied clinical psychology at the University UCL Belgium and has also trained in psychoanalytic therapy.
