Chamonix HD is the official app for the Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley.

On it you will find all the information you need for a better knowledge of the legendary resort of Chamonix’s treasures, superbly illustrated with photos and videos.

In the History section, you can explore Chamonix through the ages, from the arrival of the Valley’s first inhabitants in the 12th century up until our own times, through the great age of the conquest of the Alps and mountain sports.

Then start by setting out to discover Chamonix Mont-Blanc – a unique atmosphere combining the energy to the town and the tranquillity of the traditional villages. The resort is full of life all year round and enthrals as many mountain and riding sports enthusiasts from all over the world as it does those who love natural wide open spaces and who are drawn by the splendid spectacle of the glaciers and slender ridges of the Mont-Blanc massif. Chamonix is renowned for what it can offer visitors, with a constantly expanding and very wide range of quality accommodation and a broad diversity of shops, restaurants and leisure activities.

In both winter and summer, you can discover Chamonix’s world famous tourist attractions – the Aiguille du Midi at an altitude of 3842 m that can be reached from the town centre by cable car in 20 minutes and Montenvers Mer de Glace at 1913 m courtesy of the celebrated little red rack railway train.

Chamonix Mont-Blanc is always bustling and all year round it offers an outstanding choice of activities for all ages and all levels – in winter, naturally, there are the riding sports that have made Chamonix’s reputation in France and with ski fans from all over the world, but there are also 45 outdoor activities to be enjoyed in summer and between seasons. And don’t forget to make the most of the musical, sporting and cultural events that punctuate life in the resort.

Since time immemorial the Chamonix Valley and the Mont-Blanc massif have been an inspiration to artists, painters, poets, writers, musicians, photographers and even film makers. In the « Chamonix as seen by … » chapter the Chamonix HD app gives them a voice.
