Along with hosting TV5’s documentary series Amerikology, filmed over Winter-Spring 2011 in Cuba, Chile, Peru and Bolivia, Luis Oliva is also pleased to share a few memorable pages of his trip’s notebooks. Though born in Guatemala, Luis came to Montreal at the age of seven, and had only returned to Latin America for one brief ‘packaged’ holiday in all the ensuing years.

And so, in heading off in search of special everyday people who’ve come up with some unique personal solutions to environmental and social problems that many considered unsolvable, Luis is also rediscovering his own roots, in each town and on the smiling face of each new encounter.
