Legend tells that, before his death, Leonardo da Vinci gave 15 coins to his disciple Francesco Melzi and the rules to move and restore them to their the initial order.

Francesco never managed to solve it. But he took time to talk to the king Francois the 1st, who, equally amazed by the apparent simplicity of this game, also failed to solve this puzzle.

Francois the 1st offered 500 gold coins and the royal ring to whoever would find the solution.

As no one brought the solution to the king, Francois the 1st announced on his deathbed that he would be buried with the 500 gold coins and the ring, since no one had brought him the satisfaction of the solution.

Mankind then lost all memory of the game, until it resurfaced by chance when work was being carried out at the Louvre. When the Pyramid was under contruction an old document was discovered trapped in the remains of a wall in an underground room containing the rules of the game.

Found, while I was searching for a ball that had landed there, it took me many years to decipher the rules of this old parchment where each letter was partly erased.

Now is the time to, once again, offer humanity the mystery of Da Vinci Coins ®.
